Quintero is a municipality belonging to the province of Valparaiso in Valparaiso Region , in the central coast of Chile . Integra along with the communes of Cabildo , Calera , Hijuelas , The Cross , The Ligua , Nogales , Papudo , Petorca , Puchuncav� , Quillota andZapallar Precinct No. 10 and belongs to the Cordillera Senatorial Valpara�so. It was the first port in the country, created during the expedition of Don Diego de Almagro .
It is part of the metropolitan area inter communal Gran Valpara�so integrating this conurbation with the spa and industrial area of windows in the "Satellite Coastline Quintero - Windows", conceived in the Plan and Ordinance Valparaiso Inter comunal 1965, ratified and expanding its destination urban to the Aconcagua River Metropolitan Master Plan for Valparaiso in 2012
