Municipal Market

Opened in 1929 and remodeled in 1988, is the traditional Mapuche handicrafts sales. There are silver objects, textiles, wood carvings, basketry and even valuable antiques smuggling Mapuches.  can also buy traditional Chilean food and seafood in their restaurants.

It should be mentioned that inside, apart from restaurants and crafts, Temuco Municipal Market has a lot of commercial, highlighting the popular butchers and roticer�as located inside.

The Municipal Market occupies almost an entire block in downtown Temuco and has access by four streets: Aldunate, Rodriguez, Portals and Bulnes. Of neoclassical architecture, heritage building is the city's biggest tourist attraction and center for excellence.

In February 2010, the municipal market suffered some damage as a result of the powerful earthquake that hit much of the country, especially its front, but overall very well mega structure withstood the quake. Currently awaiting the final reconstruction of the main facade
