Many of these monuments dating back to the Ottoman period: "Dar El Kaid" transformed into a museum of popular arts, was the residence of the representative of the Bey ofMascara  , "Abd El Hamid Dar", this house was built by Abd el Hamid, a powerful emir beylik Ottoman "Dar El Mufti," which was still inhabited by the Mufti of Mostaganem Kara Mestapha, it is composed of two levels arranged around a patio tombs bey bey Bouchlaghem and Mustapha El Ahmar and "Dar Choâra" (Poets Palace), built in 1732 under the orders of Mohamed Bey El Kebir, who was a center of radiation of poets and intellectuals  .

The city walls, a wall surrounding historic neighborhoods Tobbana, Derb El Arsa and Matmore and a large part of the European city. The construction of these walls is spread over several periods. The Palace of Mohammed Bey El Kebir or "Dar El Makhzen", built in 1790 in the lower area Tobbana. "Bordj ettork" or fort is built is the XVI   century on the heights of the district Tigditt
