Location of Mostaganem

The territory of the town of Mostaganem is located west of the wilaya, at 363 km west of Algiers , at 89 km east of Oran to48 km of Arzew and 81 km in North Mascara  .

Mostaganem is located 104 meters above sea level on the edge of a coastal shelf  . The city contemplates west the wide bay of Arzew  concludes that the Jebel Orousse.

The city sits on the banks of the Ain Sefra which repeatedly and particularly in 1927 , she had to fear floods. It consists of a new city, extensive, and an old city, more compact, hung on either side of a deep ravine carved by the Ain Sefra, who waters the gardens  . The town is situated at the mouth of the plains of Chélif and Macta .



Mostaganem is a port city , the port is located on the Gulf of Arzew and has an area of 68 ha and two basins. It is crossed by a network of track  .

In 2011 , the state-owned urban transport Mostaganem came into service. It serves the city of Mostaganem, outlying areas, like the Salamander and Kharroba and agglomerationsMazagran and Sayada  . In 2012 , a new bus station "inter-wilaya" was inaugurated, it is on the road to Mesra and Relizane province
