A new impetus to the development of Vi�a del Mar urban�sico occurred in 1920 between the governments of Arturo Alessandri Palma and Carlos Ib��ez del Campo . Various public works were undertaken as the Estadio El Tranque , the Colosseum Popular and Spa in Las Salinas , as well as landmark buildings were constructed for the commune as the Cerro Castillo Presidential Palace and the Municipal Theatre , both completed in the year 1930 .
