On March 11 of 1971 occurred on a train derailment
carrying schoolchildren. A Diesel locomotive 6001 and five passenger
cars, which were parked in the station Vicu�a, began moving way down,
due to a faulty air brakes, and the height of the station Gualliguaica
the train jumped the tracks, falling off a cliff next to the river Elqui
