Valley Township Guamuez was created by
Decree 3293 of November 12, 1985. The first written evidence existing on
the territory date back to 1536, when Captain Gonzalo Diaz de Pineda and
Francisco de Orellana, both Spanish conquistadors, departed on an expedition
that left Quito Ecuador , to the nation Cofan or
