Cácota is a Colombian municipality located in
the south-western region of the department of Norte de Santander. Its economy is based on agricultural production such as potatoes,
carrots, peas, peach and passion fruit and livestock production in cattle and
pasture areas. A large part of the municipality
(more than 4000 hectares) is part of Paramo Santurbán , water source for
Santander and Norte de Santander
