lanced the combat result.Tutazá was proclaimed as a township on October 6 of 1849 (163 years) by ordinance Tundama Provincial House, under the Canton of Santa Rosa de Viterbo, the first Mayor Agustin Rodriguez. In the year 1848 was declared as Parish and Parish district was proclaimed in 1852 as its first pastor Ramon Ignacio Avella, who initiated the construction of the present parish church. It was declared a formal parish Antonio Herran. Tutazá Parish has within its archives documents of great historical value as the first baptized, the first deaths in 1775. The first baptism was in 1717.

The popularly elected mayors in order are: Rincón Parmenio Carvajal, Estupiñan Myriam Guerrero, Sissa Ismael Moreno, Alirio Alarcón Merchan, Hugo Javier Duenas Castro, Fabio Gomez and Antonio Carlos Guarin Estupiñan Saul Reyes who is the current president
