Talca is famed for offering typical Chilean dishes. The wide variety of agricultural and livestock resources in the surrounding rural area makes a popular gastronomic Talca with wide choices at low prices. Achieve notoriety local dishes such as pan , charquic�n , roast , etc.., all accompanied by fine wines from the Maule Valley. The pig in stone (crushed tomato or "crushing" in stone, with garlic) is originally from this area.

Activities

FITAL: Since 1964 Talca is scenario, between March and April, the International Fair of the Maule Region , known more as FITAL (by its former name International Fair of Talca , used until 1975 ), in which displays the latest in technological and industrial field, especially in the area of intensive agriculture, viticulture and livestock, gathering at the event to industry, commerce and agriculture in the region. Held in the grounds namesake, former Botanic Park, next to the Stadium Tax. Its first president (1964) was the renowned farmer and former president of the Central Agricultural Trade Association, Enrique Donoso Cort�s.

Wine Route: Route through the vineyards of Maule Valley , whose center is the city of Talca. It is a highly demanded tourist walk especially for visitors from abroad. Party at the Museum and Cultural Huilquilemu Villa.

Independence Week: Since 2010 this festival is celebrated in the second week of February each year, commemorating the independence of Chile , whose act was signed on February 12, 1818 in the city of Talca. The festival has among its attractions, concerts and international artists, a gastronomic exhibition which displays various preparations typical of the region and the country, a regional championship cueca, rodeo, craft fairs, historical photo exhibition, and a civic parade military
