Timbio becomes the third oldest town of Colombia and the fifth in South America by the Spanish refounded. The town was founded on November 1 of 1535 by the Spanish conquistadors Juan de Ampudia Pedro de Anasco and under orders given by Sebastian Belalcazar . That day the Christian feast of All Saints and to commemorate this celebration officiated the Holy Mass and also the day after the huge battle Mastales at the site of the Crosses
