History of San Vicente del Caguan

Vicente Quesada, Jose Maria Camargo Gabriel Perdomo, Nepomuceno Perdomo and Capuchin friar Marcelo in one of the camps on the banks of river Caguan where the rubber seeking to transport its production is established between Puerto Rico (Caquetá) and San Juanito, today Algeciras (Huila) . In 1900 , major market leaders created the lines to form the first streets of the village. His name was given in honor of Juan Vicente Quesada , who established the site for the town and performed the same stroke. In August 1905 the district was created Caguan within the Municipality of Alto Caquetá and had the capital San Vicente.
