Consacá, was founded on December 17, 1861 by Jaime Churupamba. At first the town was assigned a governor of Popayan , including the Hacienda de San Antonio de Bomboná.

This estate is known for its considerable length, covering land ranging from the barrel of Guáitara river to the summit of Galeras volcano and from the canyon Azufral river to the historic cannon Cariaco river, a place that was the scene of the Battle of Bomboná , on April 7, 1822, between the royalist troops commanded by General Basilio Garcia and the patriot army under the
