A humble tent, under whose protective shadow met the small group of neighbors, that as the days passed increased, was the beginning and origin of this devotion is shaping out the idea of a chapel. After the month, the group unanimously by the organizers prior opinion of Don Victor Devoto, pastor of Villa Alemana, which encouraged and stimulated to its organizers, agreed to build a small chapel in a place provided for this purpose in Lima street immediately Latorre.

He immediately formed a committee whose honorary president was Mr. Devoto and Don Fernando Soto cash seconded by Mr. Salazar, Ovalle and others. Simultaneously with the help of some neighbors began to raise money, with which he bought the wood and building materials, working themselves into the work with effort and sacrifice, giving term in April.

On April 28, 1963 the first Mass was held, continuing regularly every Sunday and holidays. To do this we had the valuable cooperation of Salesian priests of the house they had in Retirement-Quilpu�, who came regularly to the celebration of Mass.

The Mass was attended by a large number of neighbors that gradually grew. At the same time the Committee and cooperative work raising money and projecting the possibility of acquiring a land where the chapel permanently installed as the land where it was temporarily not selling well and did not qualify for future expansion.

Meanwhile ground was seeking. In a conversation with Don Italo Composto, the then mayor of the city, was asked about the possibility that Don Carlos Longhi could sell at a reasonable price or donate the land that is currently in the parish as some ladies had spoken to him about it. Don Italo we arranged an interview with Don Carlos to which he exposed the possibility of donating the land, who asked for a short time to think.
