San Esteban National Park also includes part of the Cordillera of the coast in the state of Carabobo , Venezuela . Long Island has an estimated area of ??54 hectares, and is located fifteen minutes by boat from the beach Quizandal. It is the only island in the park that allows free access to tourists as it is under a special administration of the Superintendent of the San Esteban .



At the south of Long Island can be admired beaches of white sand with calm, clear waters, coral reefs and mangroves . The coast north instead is rocky, with waves constantly hitting rocks violently.



Tourists can take boats to get to Long Island from Quizandal Beach Pier, where boats offer the service can bring their boat or yacht owners asking permission INPARQUES National Parks Institute, Watchers Park. Long Island is a popular alternative to the National Park Morrocoy among residents of Valencia and other cities cababobe�as due to its geographical location and easy access (45 minutes from Valencia, Venezuela , 15 minutes from Puerto Cabello )



Once on the island, visitors can enjoy a variety of services: public restrooms, restaurant, pedal boats, small huts and tourist service by INPARQUES team.



The island also offers a wide variety of marine life and beautiful corals around the German freighter "Sesostris", sunk in 1940 after a mutiny of the crew and an Italian cattle boat, in which the holding structure covers wood for livestock is evident. These wrecks are called " wrecks ", and have become over time in reef artificial holding a variety of underwater fauna. Long Island is an excellent place to practice diving and snorkeling. Another recent extreme sports tradition is the practice of open water swimming, the swimmers dive into the sea from Playa Huequito (on the mainland), and roundtrip crossing the channel between Long Island to the mainland
