San Vito de Java responded to a process of
colonization planned foreign agriculture, in which the Costa Rican government
organized a process of creating agricultural colonies. Its purpose was twofold: first sought to populate the country
with foreign population and secondly, intended to settle population in
peripheral parts of the country. In the case of San Vito, was founded thanks to
