During the pre-Columbian era , the Ciudad Quesada was inhabited by botos and was, during the Conquest, refuge area due to lack of interest from Spanish to master it. The first Spanish conquistador who entered the area was Jerome Retes Ortega and Lopez in 1640, founding the town of San Jeronimo in the polls.

In 1884, José María Quesada Ugalde, Baltazar Quesada Quesada Rodríguez and Joaquín Rodríguez, from the canton of Greece , claimed for themselves the lands that now constitute Ciudad Quesada. Thus began the
