History of Toca

JuteVilla
It is said that Touch was an indigenous pre-Columbian settlement and its inhabitants paid tribute and homage to the Lord of IRACA. The conquerors, en route to the Eastern Plains, baptized BIG TOWN `` Touch'' at numerous of their homes, and the large number of Indians they found there. In an expedition commanded by General JUAN SAN MARTIN, in the year of 1536 they found a village of Indians led by Cacique TOCAVITA and in honor of this Cacique gave the name of TOCA.
