The economy
is highly Tibú mining, depends mainly on oil exploration, as this has large
reserves of oil inside, and there are large reserves of coal and uranium , plus
it has large hectares of cocoa , cassava, maize and palm oil , the latter
increasing. Note that this is very
commercial town for being border with Venezuela and has an important sector of
livestock cattle .
