The history of the village dates back long before the founding of this by General Antonio de la Torre and Miranda in 1774, in the savannas and forests inhabited by wild black mary from Cartagena de Indias, had come here fleeing slavery These blacks lived in a disorderly and so in 1774 the Tower and Miranda decided by its passage through the savannah Maroons this group and so found the town of San Onofre Torobé since the first houses were established near the creek Torobé.
