Sáchica Township is located on the mountain
range called Cordillera Oriental , which is part of the Andes , in the central
region of Boyaca, in a mountainous area surrounding the valley known since
pre-Columbian times by the Indians as Zaquencipá Valley, then called Valley
Monquirá and currently occupies the Ricaurte Province
