Roldanillo was founded by Captain Francisco Redondo Ponce de León, January 20, 1576, was erected as a municipality in 1875 The landscape of the Municipality, is formed by a flat area that is part of the Valley Geographic Cauca River and hillside area, consisting of highs and lows that are part of the Western Cordillera, on the east slope hills.
