Quípama is named after one of the two daughters of Chief Itoco, which, as IBAMA sister, was a beautiful woman. Quípama was in its infancy, the throne of an important chieftainship of the tribe of the Muzos, whose last big was the Cacique Itoco veteran man and excellent competent and who because of his military rank and file, was finally defeated and cruelly murdered by the Spaniards, fair with numerous members of his tribe. After the Conquest, Captain Luis Lanchero instituted the first city in the Muzos, in the year of 1541, which belonged Quípama. The Indians were exasperated and burned the
