JuteVilla
Constancio Pinto Peque García name could also come from the word Beké plant cultivated by the Catíos. But according to the Antiochian historian Dr. Jaime García Sierra, the name corresponds to a variation of the Indian woman mother of the sons of Don Gaspar de Rodas, Pequese indigenous women, who have been rumored stayed very beautiful. Perhaps too, says the historian, Peque would come as a derivation of the name of a chieftain of the region. All indications so the origin of this name is native Indian.

Subsequent to the date of the previous reviews, which correspond roughly to the year 1570 or 71, Peque records are lost until 1840, when it was time the Indians of the region had undergone or exterminated. On this date in 1840 Peque was already within the jurisdiction of Ituango.
