lang="EN-US">The Municipality, currently devotes 3.64% (1,773 ha) of land to agricultural crops, highlighting the sisal, maize, sugarcane, beans, cassava, coffee and fruit as their main crops; in the livestock sector, land occupation reaches 30.83% (15,011.45 ha) and the most representative species are for the dual purpose cattle (milk and meat), poultry (eggs), breeding and fattening pigs, fish farming as an emerging activity, goats and horses tenure for purposes of loading or transport of agricultural products and support for productive activities.

Other rural areas of the municipality are represented by natural vegetation and stubble 10,642.39 hectares equivalent to 21.86%; 15241.2 hectares forest equivalent to 31.31%; paramo vegetation with 5611.8 hectares equivalent to 11.52% and xeric vegetation and uncultivated land with 396.46 hectares, equivalent to 0.81% of the territory.
