The founding charter of the town of Funes, who lies in the national archive of Quito contains two royal seals of King Ferdinand of Spain and New Granada. The founders: FUNES LUCAS, born in Aragon (Spain) on September 15, 1576 and died in Quito on July 13, 1656 and Miguel Tellez was born in Toledo (Spain) on March 20, 1579 and died in Bogotá on 8 February 1643.
