In 1906 the population was destroyed by an earthquake - tsunami that went by the name of "The Visit".

In 1953 a fire destroyed 95% of the judges of the puddle. At that time the population belonged to the municipality of Iscuandé .

In 1967 segregates Iscuandé Township and create the new municipality of El Charco. Following this event, there were debates and disagreements between the residents and the Carmelite priests about the name of
