The first inhabitants of the region were the panches Síquima tribe, whose seat was at a place called "The Boards", being at the confluence of the rivers Apulo and Bogota. In Síquima spent Easter 1544 Captain Hernan Venegas Carrillo when he went to found the city ashore panches and then the first Mass for the priest Yañez held. The population increased from December 31, 1888 when the Girardot-Facativa Railway, who’s "Apulo Station" CARLOS HOLGUIN inaugurated
