Vranduk name was first mentioned in 1410 . This area has always been of geostrategic importance. Role Vranduk was to control the traffic from the direction of the Pannonian Plain ( Hungary and Austria ) across Bosnia, to the Adriatic Sea .



It once served as the only one of the many medieval Bosnian cities, which are located in this region that represents an area with a rich political, economic and cultural life. The old city consists of the citadel with the main tower and the remains of the walls that surrounded the center of the medieval town. Very close to the tower was built mosque of Sultan Mehmed Fatih.
