Symbolically Montecarlo was founded May 4, 1920 by the first settlers. In the beginning it was known as "Los Montes de Carlos", as the owner of these lands was Don Carlos Seguin, then passed into the hands of Charles Culmey Colonization Company. The years were transforming this expression to convert Monte Carlo or Monte Carlo. It is known that before the date of foundation settlements existed in this area, but the records were almost nonexistent at that time, there is talk that some three thousand Indians roamed the region. Although first births and deaths of laborers or mensúes (those who opened the trench or cut into the virgin forest) are registered in the first decade of the twentieth century. The Colonization Company of Alto Paraná Carlos Culmey and Co.. published in 1919 their sales pitches plans and existing agricultural potential in the area. So many immigrants from different regions and countries were concurring and settled in the place. Receiving these farms had an average of 20 to 30 hectares mensuradas so that each had a nascent or watercourse on his property. The only means of communication was the Paraná river crossed by boats like the famous "Guayrá", became the one to bring new products and to supply goods to the burgeoning town. The town currently has 36.000 (thirty six thousand inhabitants), where traditional native population without racial problems with descendants of German, Swiss, Polish and Paraguayans
