Taoyuan County's industry now has a value in excess of 2.2 trillion dollars while actual revenues from taxation have rocketed from 91.1 billion in 2001 to 196.9 billion in 2006, an increase of over 210%. In the past, Taoyuan County's unemployment rate of 5.31% was higher than the national average (5.22%). This has now dropped to become the lowest in Taiwan at 3.8%.
On Friday, 26 March 2010, China Airlines moved into its new headquarters on the grounds of Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and in Dayuan Township in Taoyuan County.
