Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) runs passenger buses to Madhavaram from other major parts of Chennai. A bus terminus had been built in the yesteryears which serves the residents. The bus routes operated from here are 38H to Broadway, M48A to Ambattur Ind.estate and 170A to Vandalur Zoo. Though the frequency of buses are less from Madhavaram Bus Terminus, most commuters used to board the buses in Thapalpetti bus stop where they can get more buses which come from Mathur/Manali. Share Autos play an important role for transportation here. As there is no railway line passing through Madhavaram, residents normally go to Perambur (which is the nearest railway station) to travel in trains
