Koderma is located along National Highway 31 that connects Ranchi and Patna. Koderma Railway station is on the Grand Chordrailway line of East Central Railway connecting Calcutta and Delhi via Dhanbad.
Koderma railway junction is a railway station in Jhumri Tilaiya town.Three New railway lines are being laid from Koderma junction to three different directions which is Koderma-Giridih(102 km long), Koderma-Ranchi (Via Hazaribagh, Barkakana )and Koderma to Tilaiya (Bihar) These new railway lines improve the connectivity of Koderma. Near future Koderma will be upgraded as busy railway junction
