There are two dams in Pul-i Kumri, which can support the necessary electricity to the city.
The first cement factory of Afghanistan was built in Pul-i Kumri by financial support of Czechoslovakia in 1954. The owner of the factory is Mahmud Karzai (brother of Hamid Karzai). The necessary limestone are mined from the hill behind the factory.
