El Tigre is the shire town of the Sim�n Rodr�guez Municipality in Anzo�tegui. The mayor of the Sim�n Rodr�guez Municipality is Carlos Hernandez, elected in 2008 with 50.6% of the vote. He replaced Ernesto Paraqueima Luiggi shortly after the last municipal elections in November 2008
