History of Corinto

JuteVilla
, which became inoperative in 1907 (following the war in El Salvador against Honduras and Nicaragua ).

This village was chosen because of its location, to make it a port city. Actually, Corinth is an island separated from the mainland by the same stream, but the construction of a bridge and a road (for heavy vehicles) was connected to the mainland.

The port of Corinth has great international significance because here is the most important port in Nicaragua - especially on the Pacific coast. Most of the oil enters the country through this port. Moreover, much of the agricultural products are imported and exported by Corinth. In the vicinity you can see containers of liquor, oil, methanol, molasses and other derivatives of sugar cane, which are waiting to be loaded on ships for export or have been recently imported. Every month you can see how the cruise dock at this port of Corinto.
