The city has a church built in 1924 next to which is installed a sculpture park that houses a major collection of pre-Columbian art sculpted in basalt rock . These large figures representing human figures and their alter egos , mainly the eagle and jaguar . An estimated date from the ninth century AD.

The city also houses the museum with an interesting collection Ometepe archaeological and ethnographic
