Arnhem is connected with multiple highways.

A 12 : (west-east) The road connects the city of The Hague, with the German border, connecting to the German Autobahn A3.

A 50 : (north-south) Is a highway in the Netherlands, running from Eindhoven in the southeast up to Zwolle in the northeast of the country.

By train

National : The Arnhem railway station  was opened on 14 May 1845. The station is the main station of Arnhem, and at present, has around 40,000 passengers that use the station per day, this makes it the 9th busiest station in the Netherlands. Beside the main station there are some sub stations: Arnhem Velperpoort, Arnhem Presikhaaf and Arnhem Zuid.



Intercity trains go to (main stations): Utrecht, Amsterdam, Schiphol Airport, Nijmegen, Den Bosch , Tilburg, Roosendaal, Zwolle. Plus other smaller cities.

International :

Arnhem is on the main Inter City Express (ICE) line from Frankfurt, Germany to Amsterdam. It will stop at Amsterdam - Utrecht - Arnhem - Cologne - Frankfurt.



By plane

Arnhem is located about 1h - 1,5h from several airports:

Amsterdam-Schiphol airport (IATA: AMS),  The largest airport in the Netherlands, and the fifth largest in Europe. 110 km to the northwest. Train takes about 75 min, and will cost €16,00 one way. Schiphol airport gets served by most major carriers, and has in excess of 100 flights to the United States alone per day.
