Culture of Taxco

JuteVilla
Streets, churches and colonial houses are home to the city's vibrant cultural heritage, and silent witnesses to the history of Taxco. In each corner of Taxco you can stand and breathe the colonial past. The baroque temples, the ancient houses and the ornamentation of historic buildings transport you to a period of cultural splendor. Here, museums and cultural spaces open their doors, inviting you into the region's past, its influences, artistic expressions, illustrious characters and the events that marked its history. Make your way to the Plaza Borda, where the Museo de la Plateria (Silversmith Museum) and Casa Borda can be found. The latter, built in 1759, currently houses Taxcos House of Culture which is regularly host to book presentations, theater plays, violin, piano and guitar concerts, alongside other cultural events. For the culturally-minded, a visit to the richly decorated Santisima Trinidad Church and Casa Humboldt is a must. In the interior of both buildings you'll find sacred artworks on display
