club members. Mangaļsala became a punishment. Of archival material known from the Central fey were brought by boat along the River Daugava, at dawn on the dunes shot and buried, but the dunes leveled. Yet only known one from the penalty spot, in 1906 . On the 16th May the place was shot and buried eight Pardaugava revolutionary group "Sons of the Sun" militants. In honor of this event in 1970 . The monument was installed.

Mangaļu parish was founded in 1935 . year. It stretched about 12 kilometers long and 5 kilometers wide strip along the coast of theDaugava river mouth Gauja mouth direction, including parents , Kalngali and garciems . Latvian Encyclopedia the municipality described as "totally unsuitable for agriculture, barren sand dunes and water sastrēgušo sake" . Arable land accounted for only 3.8% of the rural areas, and in this respect Mangaļu Parish ranked in last place among Latvian parishes. When added to the wet meadows and pastures, agricultural areas occupied 28% of the district area. Like any other parish were not as high (27%) of small seeding (1-2 ha) per cent of this.
