By train

From Tokyo Station, Odawara is 35 minutes on the JR Tokaido Shinkansen Hikari or Kodama service trains. The Nozomi Shinkansen does not stop at Odawara. On the ordinary Tokaido Line, it takes 100 minutes and passes through Shinagawa, Kawasaki and Yokohama.

From Shinjuku, it's 120 minutes on the Odakyu Line, which takes its name from the city Odakyu being short for Odawara Kyuk?, or "Odawara Express". If you have a JR Pass and want to use JR trains, from the western end of the Yamanote Line (Ikebukuro, Shinjuku, Shibuya), you can ride the JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line rapid service train, which goes to Odawara. Note that the Shonan-Shinjuku Line local service does not go to Odawara, so if you are using the local service, change to a Tokaido Line train at Yokohama, Totsuka or Ofuna. Otherwise, you will end up on the eastern end of Kanagawa Prefecture, while Odawara is on the western end.

From Yokohama Station, the JR Tokaido Line goes directly to Odawara in 56 minutes. The Odoriko express service train makes the journey in 36 minutes, but requires a 1610 surcharge on top of the standard 950 standard fare. From Shin-Yokohama Station, the Hikari or Nozomi Shinkansen makes the journey in only 16 minutes for a total of 3340.

From Hakone, take the Hakone T?zan Line.
