Once known as La Forêt d'Yveline, the Forest of Rambouillet is one of the loveliest forests in France. More than 19,000 hectares (46,950 acres) of greenery stretch from the valley of the Eure to the high valley of Chevreuse, the latter rich in medieval and royal abbeys.
