It is located on the crest of one of the foothills of the Central Cordillera of the Andes Colombian , and thus, their locals believe that the town serves as a natural gate to monitor a vast sector of the lower northeast of the department of Antioquia .

Its height above sea level is lower than Yolombó , 1,200 meters above sea level , but here in Yalí climate and atmosphere are a little cooler just because the wind is received on all sides due to the particular position of the village.
