In the year 1786 the Toneros were interested in rebuilding the old chapel. In fact earlier extinction joined the village parish of Vetas , who were keener to attend Mass that the people Tona de Silos, in 1787 the neighbors asked for the transfer of the chapel to a better place where you could draw a street plan around a square, this initiative was unsuccessful, but in 1799 Toneros formally request the creation of the parish. In 1806there was a visit of inspection to determine the enforceability of the "congrua of cure", the process was suspended in 1810 due to the exploits of independence and resumed in 1815 when the priest José María Villamizar presented a proposed new definition of
