in Colombia it has also its share of problems. Make sure you get cash before
you arrive as the ATM is often broken, the roads are terrible and unpaved, but
that alone has it's own charm. Like many places on the coast, be careful when
you walk alone at night or in remote areas. Do not take anything valuable with
you out after dark and use lit streets to return to your hostel.
Late 2013 the town was unsafe, the safety
improved a lot in 2014
