November 1, 1899 by mistake a battle between the government forces led by
Colonel Carlos Franco was fought. In the main square stood a
bust of La Pola, opened on November 17, 1917. It
was later rebuilt the main park and the bust of La Pola, was located in the
Policarpa Salvarrieta Elementary School, now part of the College AgustÃn Parra.
In
1842 the construction of a new church began, which was demolished in August 1957,
when the construction of the present church was begun, was inaugurated on 13
December 1967
