According to the same historian Sátiva name comes from the Cacique and her tribe that inhabited the town and its dependencies.

The conqueror of the province was Hernan Perez de Quesada , who began her campaign in 1541 . The natives of the region are defeated in the town of Chita . The region attracted great interest because of the high availability of labor and agricultural potential determined by altitude variations, rainfall and fertile land. This situation led to other Spanish after Quesada and will begin to take the first settlements, who sometimes leave their weapons to stay as colonists. The most notable of these was Pedro Ruíz Serrezuelo or Herrezuelo, who had accompanied Jiménez de Quesada, and who later became commander of Panqueba.
