San José de Pare is a purely agricultural town, its economy is based on the cultivation of sugar cane for the production of panela ; has over ninety mills sugarcane distributed in nine villages, the brown sugar is sold on Saturday in the town Santana neighbor, a product that is then distributed throughout the national territory.
