Simon Bolivar was three times the town: the January 2, 1821, on September 6,
1827 and June 9, 1828.
By the decree of February 21,
1832, erected the parish Saboyá, which ceased to belong to the province of Vélez
. The parish church was built in the nineteenth century
and dedicated to his patron Saint Vincent Ferrer , of which there is a box
