In 1959 a civic festivals, from 13 to 20 November, organized by Mayor Antonio Henao Gómez and the Society of Public Improvements were made. With funds raised at those parties restoring the main park, which was in poor condition was made.

Between 26 and 30 November 1960, the Society of Public Improvements, under the direction of Dr. Libardo Osorio Restrepo, made a new party, called at the request of Nestor J. Mejía, former mayor and councilman for many years, " I Water Festival ", taking into account the vital importance of water and abundance of clear water near the municipality. then the project was approved by the City Council by the name of Water Parties.

Features: Popular tablados, exhibitions, parade floats, reigns, cultural and sporting events. The main event of the celebrations is the folkloric parade, a riot of imagination and joy where all people, in an atmosphere of fellowship, meets pacoreños different colonies across the country and abroad, to make reference to water, mixing imagination with nature, myths, legends, customs and traditional symbols: the rattle, the umbrella, the bells and the water in the region.
